He woke up feeling like an incredible fool.
Not again!, he thought. But it was true.
This was the 8th girl to leave him in the last 12 months. He thought Delhi would be different from Chennai, he would have his bike again, he was even gonna buy a car. But it wasn't.
He didn't want anything magnificent. Just somebody simple and adorable, as girls most often seemed to be.
Chameleons, he thought, especially those mallu women, cunning, colour-changing chameleons.
Once the anger subsided he felt like a fool again. Like a puppet trying to lead his own strings. Actually, he wasn't as big an idiot as he presumed people made him out to be, but he wasn't as smart as he "knew" either.
Infact, the problem was, his own good looks, he thought. It attracted the wrong kind, those who never bothered to see what lay beyond all his physical appeal. No woman has been able to understand the man he is so far, all that he has to offer, all that is fascinating about him.
He was saved from further agitation by his mum who was calling him for breakfast. He rushed to the loo to perform the needful and proceeded to shower.
He was going to go out for drinks with Anisha tonight. Now theres the kinda woman he should probably focus on- hearty, spirited and older. Has seen enough shit in life to appreciate a simple heart like his own. She was a sizeable women with nice assets. But once in a while he found her a little overbearing, something like a charging rhino.
C'mon, surely he could overlook that.
He went to the dining room and sat infront of the TV. As his mum kept hurrying between the kitchen and the dining table, he tactfully switched between fashion TV and star sports. His mind wandered off to all the other women in office, Josephine, Monica, Janki, Sini...
He felt reassured, after all one is all he needed.
