Halloween is around the corner and the town is a madhouse. We are staying indoors--today we splayed on the couch and watched In the Mood for Love. As far as I could remember, it was one of those foreign movies every in-the-know JNU student watched.
I am sure we will venture out at some point to see the costumes and to be amidst the chaos. Besides, we have booked ourselves for high tea at Jolie tea shop tomorrow, so, one must get out. Very excited for herbal teas and tiered tea trays laden with delicious treats.
In the meantime, I present to you a new painting. I had this scene in my head for a long time--of monkeys wrecking the kitchen in my old Delhi P.G and Chottu jumping into action. It was my creative goal for the semester, to make this painting. I am glad I saw it through.
Nats said it looks like a Tinkle illustration, which is kinda what I was going for. The original inspiration were these illustrations by Ryo Takemasa.
