Dublin: Day 7

 1. Lunched at Winding Stairs-- had lovely scotch eggs (a rarer find on Irish menus compared to British ones) and cream-drenched haddock with mashed potatoes. There was a bookshop downstairs by the same name, which was a charming idea, but the shop had limited inventory and nothing on the shelves called out to me in particular.

2. Strolled through the expansive Phoenix park. Chanced upon the Irish President's (their role is mostly ceremonial) official residence. Saw several happy, unleashed dogs along the way.

3. Got to the visitor center where they have a small castle with a knee-high maze garden. I noticed a slit of a window at the top, and Mike informed me that it was for shooting arrows at the enemy.

4. Caught the bus back to the park's main gate. We assumed we could pay by card, but you either need cash or a bus pass. Bus driver was nice enough to let us ride without tickets.

5. Went to a local burger chain, Bunsen, for dinner. Good stuff, very fresh. Apparently the owner was inspired by Shake Shack when he created the restaurant.

6. Walked through an annoying drizzle to get back to the hotel.
