Normalcy

This week I am going very British with Tea with Mussolini, Deathtrap and hopefully some Inspector Morse. All this is supposed to cheer me up after last weeks excessively stale collection. And where are the good ol’ romcoms btw? Do ppl make that stuff anymore? I miss u nancy meyers.
Also, I dont think i have seen a horror movie since being single. Pure singledom for a year. Whoa! Sometimes I think I wouldn’t know how to get back into the dating scene, n sometimes I think I will get back into it with a bloody bang. Anyways, I cant do it alone, these horror movies. Ammas too busy, so is acha n my dogs wont sit still. N if I try n make them, they will pee on d sofa instead. Maybe when H comes down… but then H’s n my horror movie tastes don’t match.
At home, amma n I have gotten into flower arranging. Well, amma mostly. I basically tag along when she goes to the field, hold the umbrella in the heat, make aiii aaah sounds wn shes about to slip into the pond n ofcourse lend my critical eye. But then, I also redid the broken vase, which no longer appears broken, n whose new pretty young thing look inspired all this flower arranging business. Also, I realize that I really like to tag behind my mother for all this flower-fruits plucking business.
Then later today, we went to our tailor’s house in the morning. He used to be a school teacher but got kicked out for some reason. But he got his pension all the same, so with that money he went and did a gulf tour n came back n decided to pursue his passion for stitching and making ‘wild-bee’ honey. Anyways, so when we reached his house, amma got out to open the gates n I heard acha say to himself, pretty. N I think he was referring to amma, infact, im sure, cos I stuck my head out n cross-checked. N the thing is, its very difficult to say nice stuff to ammas face, cos amma can be pretty nasty about it, which is sad, but that’s cos there r like a lot a stuff great about amma n we take most of that stuff for granted.
Also, where the hell is my nephew?? I know his uber-cool cousin has come down, but if hes gonna forget me so easily, then am definitely leavin him out of my will.
And finally, I realized as I was reading cats eye, that I’ve never heard of a really famous female painter. I wikipediaed it, n a bunch of names did crop up, but they were more like, woman painters of great repute. Ho-hum.
