I can't wait for this semester to be over. There are so many
things I want and need to do desperately. I look forward to having time as my
own more or less. I have quite a few trips planned, in fact there are so many,
I really can't imagine all of them happening over the summer.
First there is the trip to Texas, for Dave's wedding, with Mike in tow. It would be our first trip together and I am a little worried of how things would go with the two of us spending so much time together continuously, but then I also look forward to having us to ourselves, away from books and readings. Then there is the conference trip to France, which is really very short, so I don't think I will get time enough to enjoy the place. Oh well, something is better than nothing.
The next trip would either be to Chicago or New York and Long Island. H is there in Chicago, all ready to feed me whatever mallu food she (and I?) can put together, then we can check out the city and just hang hang hang out, discussing things to death and nitpicking on people and people-isms. Mike's parents are in Long Island so we will stay with them while making trips to NY. I have no idea what I am in for, but everyone seems to love NY and if nothing else LI sounds like a thoroughly pleasant place. Mike's parents sound like cool people so that's good, though I am sure there will be plenty of awkwardness nonetheless.
Finally, there will be another conference and workshop trip to Florida, Hao and I are thinking of visiting Disneyland, while we are there. I hope we do, it's one of those things I wanted to do as a kid. On the possibility scale it was just a step below my traveling across the universe in a space ship with a cute guy and friends. I would hear of kids winning tickets to Disneyland and I would sit around daydreaming of what would have happened if I tried and I still wouldn't be able to wrap my mind around it.
